TEACHING, What does it really mean?
TEACH
One of the most sacred and mind bending profession in the world.
TEACH
One of the greatest responsibility to be laid on someone's shoulders.
TEACH
My words today will make someone else's tomorrow
TEACH
My belief in someone will transform their beliefs.
TEACH
Everyone stands in front of me, making themselves vulnerable to see life through my eyes.
TEACH
To become the Mirror.
To teach is sacred, to teach is to be held in a pedestal of great responsibility.
To teach is to allow each and every individual the space to let them be who they want to be. It's to allow the space for laughter, for intensity, for mistakes, for memories.
Teaching for me has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. In nothing else will you come so face to face with your shortcomings as in teaching. It's like being sucked into a vortex and suddenly landing in a space where everything is too clear.
Are you too harsh on yourself in life? It will reflect in the way you teach your students.
Are you unhappy with where you are at the moment? It will reflect in the way you treat your students.
Are you joyous and celebrating life? It will reflect the emotional state of the entire class.
We are all essentially just energy. And when someone walks through that door and enters your class, they are not really seeking a class. They are seeking an energy to guide them through an EXPERIENCE. An experience that they would wish to enjoy and WE as the teachers are essentially painting that empty canvas for them. Yes, what a joy and what a beautiful responsibility.
So we must paint with our hearts as a teacher. To show the student the most picturesque of experiences. To allow them to wander into their own minds at times and lead them at others. Finding the balance between the both is the most enjoyable part. To know when to help and to know when to let them be. To know when to support and to know when to pull away.
We sometimes don't realize how powerful it can be to be in the position of a teacher. How our words can sometimes linger on for years on end. We are this magnificent chain, all connected to one another and words connect one person to another in that chain. How invaluable those words are!
How priceless!!!
The way you treat your student today will determine the way he will treat someone else tomorrow. So as a teacher, what you are essentially starting is an endless chain that will be carried on long after you are gone as well.
Words linger. Words Imprint. Words stay.
Share with me some of your teaching experiences and how it has been for you. I would love to know more!
